One-Year Supervisory Training Program for Psychoanalysts

The One Year Object Relations Program for graduates of analytic institutes provides the clinical foundation to professionals who want to become supervisors. This 30-week program, with special emphasis on object relations thinking, combines individual mentorship as well as group supervision with an experiential and didactic curriculum. The program is designed to enable the supervisors in training to understand the complex dimensions of the supervisory process, which includes the supervisor's own transference and countertransference to both the supervisee and the therapy protocols of the patients under discussion. The highly emotional process of supervision is discussed thoroughly through individual mentorship and group supervision. Readings on the nature of the supervisory process are integral to the program. The faculty consists of senior Object Relations Institute training analysts.

Candidates in this program are required to see at least one supervisee in analytic training for a minimum of 30 sessions. There is no charge to the supervisee. Candidates are also required to attend individual mentorship for at least 30 sessions during the program. The mentorship fee is $65 per session.

The program is coordinated and led by two of the Object Relations Institute’s senior faculty members: Gladys Foxe, Ph.D., and Wolfgang Pappenheim, MD.

Tuition: $400 per trimester or $1,200 for the entire program
